Sign War
Protect Dokdo Island
After the ‘Declaration of the Peace Line’ in 1952,
Japan illegally installed territory signs on Dokdo
Island, and Korea removed these signs and
installed its own signs. This replica model
reproduces the silent warfare between Korea
and Japan.
Wooden
Cannons
Struggle for Three Years
and Eight Months
The Dokdo Volunteer Forces made wooden
cannons to make up for the relatively inferior
weapons of Korea compared to Japan.
This model reproduces the wooden cannon used
to repel the Japanese patrol vessel.
Dokdo IslandOur Dokdo Island
This model reproduces the beautiful nature
of Dokdo Island in the 1950s, the time when the
Dokdo Volunteer Forces were active before the
installation of artificial facilities of the present day,
such as the lighthouse and berth facility.
Life on Dokdo IslandDiorama
Struggle for Three Years and Eight Months
This diorama illustrates what members of the
Dokdo Volunteer Forces wore, what they ate,
and where they stayed on the uninhabited
and isolated island of Dokdo.
Belongs to
Korea
Our Dokdo Island
This model reproduces the phrase ‘Belongs to
Korea,’ which was originally carved on a Dongdo
cliff with a calligrapher named Han Jin-Ho to
remain unerased for a long time and put a stop
to the efforts of Japan to claim Dokdo Island.
